Welcome to the first ever Helladrome bicycle race, the world’s scariest velodrome and ultimate spectator event. Enter if you dare!

What is a Helladrome? It’s a looped bicycle racetrack with bends, curves, dips, obstacles, penalty boxes, and speedways. Imagine velodrome + criterium + cyclecross. Combine that with a bicycle community POTLUCK and PIE CONTEST and you have the world’s most perfectest event ever! Bring your favorite potluck dish, and enter a pie into the hella-pie contest (winner decided by celebrity judge). We here at BIKES & REC have been pretty lax lately in either posting or putting any fun bike stuff together. Luckily the folks over at DBRB are all over it. Please show your support by getting on over to the race on Sunday and having a blast with us.

Ride on Saturday will detour to my backyard at 4pm for pulled pork and fire in the pit. Extra supplies to be determined.

Who's up for a ride Saturday?

Highlands Hollow 1pm Saturday (Feb. 6) for a pre-ride libation. Route has yet to be determined and will most likely involve a few (many) stops for beers and such. Casual ride with possible chance of some distance happening between drinks? We will see.

Day after too. Cleaning up was sugar-coated by a day spent by the fire drinking beer, carving pumpkins, hiding under umbrellas and patting each other on the back.

All in all we estimated the money raised to be very near $2000. Good work. This money is set to be delivered to the BBP to assist them in educating people about bicycles, and how to ride them safely in our fair berg. Not all of the money is accounted for here at the house. Lots of it is floating around in space and you need to collect it, and get it down to the BBP. Don't send it to us, we have our own stuff to take down. We are doing our drop on Friday, maybe we will see you down there.
